New Battery Cables

Soldering the ends

I decided to run all new battery cables on board.  I went with a much heavier gauge wire than before.  I am going to have a lot more power in my bank than before and went with 2/0 cable.  Big, heavy cable but it should last for a long time.  I have six 6V batteries and a starter being wired together in the compartment.  Two 6V batteries are wired together in series and then each new “12V” is then wired in parallel to each other.  Lots of short cables were needed to accomplish all of this.  Wag at Deaton Yacht Service helped me make all of the cables.  I have been working to run all the new cables from the box to the fuse panel.  It has been difficult to pull the larger cables through some of the smaller holes but I am making progress.  Can’t wait to get the new electrical system up and running.
