Description

This fish got airborne on a lake on the Tuolumne Meadows in Yosemite National Park. There were several herons in the area that were not going hungry. This was the last park Dad and I visited on our road trip. We were done with the summer crowds and looking for quiet places. This was it. We came here a little before sunset and were stunned by the amount of bird life around the lake. We had a 600mm f/4 at the time and were able to get quite a few winners before sun down.

Dad and I went on a ten week kayak and photography tour after I graduated from Warren Wilson College in 2007. We planned and prepped for the trip for over a year. We focused on visiting National and State Parks west of Colorado. Photography and outdoor activities were the main drive of the trip. Wonderful experience!
