Description

Chub Cay is in the southern part of the Berry Islands chain. The Berry Islands are not visited as often as the Abacos and Exumas but they are very beautiful and uncrowded. I was sailing with my friend Mark at the time and we spent New Years on Chub Cay. We had a great time there and met some wonderful people. We moved from the marina to the anchorage when we were ready to leave for Nassau that night. Mark offered to make dinner on board and I rowed in try and capture a few photos at sunset. There were large palm trees lining the beach and made for a very classic sailing postcard scene.

My second big trip aboard my sailboat Arcturus was the winter of 2011-2012. I traveled from NC to the Bahamas and back for about four months. Dad, Jimmy James, Mike and I brought the boat down from NC to Ft. Lauderdale. Mark joined me from Ft. Lauderdale to Nassau, through the Berry Islands. I was by myself through the Exumas for about six weeks before meeting up with Bill Owens in Georgetown. Dad joined me on the return run up the east coast of the US. Met some wonderful friends and had an incredible time for my first time out of the country onboard Arcturus.
